Advanced Science and Technology Program

Purpose

The purpose is to provide the bilateral exchange program in the practical fields of mechanical engineering, information technology, and environmental science. Counterpart institutions are Moscow State University, St.Petersburg State University, Kazan Federal University, Far Eastern Federal University, Irkutsk State University, Altai State University, and Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The main targets are master's students, and the program is linked to the research subjects of each student.
This program also provides the bilateral internship experiences into the corporations and enterprenership education. Students become familiarized with employment opportunites of both countries, while studying basic knowledge and technology for their research subjects, as well as participating in internships.

Overview

A two- to four-week study abroad study program (outbound and inbound) is offered mainly for students in the master courses for the purpose of exchange in laboratories in the fields of mechanical engineering, information science, and environmental science. Japanese and Russian companies are selected by each university and by incorporating internships at companies, this program provides the opportunity to promote cooperation between regions in the future.

Outbound

Short-term/credit transfer program

Students choose one of the following institutions: Kazan Federal University, Irkutsk State University, Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and Far Eastern Federal University + Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and participate in online seminars provided by a laboratory of the institution they choose and that of Kanazawa University, which starts in July. They are required to present the outcome of their research activities at the online symposium held in September. They will be given an opportunity to visit the laboratory for about two weeks during February and March in 2021 to conduct research there.

Inbound

Short-term/credit transfer program

Students participate in online seminars in their research field provided by a laboratory of Kanazawa University, which starts in July. They are required to present the outcome of their research activities at the online symposium held in September. There will be an opportunity for them to visit the laboratory of Kanazawa University for about two weeks during February and March in 2021 to conduct research there.
