Breaking barriers, building bridges

Anastasiia Kholodnaia

Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology

Preventive Medicine Program

First of all I would like to express my deep appreciation to Kanazawa University and all colleagues who took part in our teaching and concerning of us during the Program. It was 2 exciting weeks full of new academic experience and comprehension, intensive cultural and professional communicative exchange and certainly amazing sightseeing impressions.

The first week at the laboratories of Viral Infections and International Health and Nephrology and Laboratory Medicine was devoted to experiments related to bacterial translocation assessment techniques. It was especially useful for me to perceive methods of leaky gut model creation and to take part in qPCR preparation and assessment processes.

In the second week we had trainings in Department of Immunology. We’ve studied so many about exosomes, perspectives and opportunities related with this research field. Also we had a great possibility to take part in experiments including the main base methods in this kind of studies, such as exosomes isolation, purification, use of Nanosight analyzing system, cytofluorometric separation and following characterization.

Reviews of current Laboratories’ projects were actually relevant for me as well as training in sharing our own results and discussing them.

It was actually a great pleasure to be supervised by each of our mentors.

Finally, I‘ve got a lot of inspiration and new knowledge for my further research work.
