I visited east part of Russia in August 2018. I learned about relationship between Russian people and nature and went some BR(Biosphere Reserves). BR aims to harmonize the conservation and sustainable use of the Russian ecosystem, and emphasis is placed not only on protection and preservation but also on the symbiosis of nature and human society. I visited two BRs in Far East Ocean of Russia. First, I visited Popov Island. Popov Island is located near the confluence point of warm and cold current, so there are a variety of creatures. People have eaten these creatures for many years and began to save them recent years. For example, when they make a bridge, they will think about its influence on the sea ecosystem. Second, I visited Fulgerima Island. Fulgerima Island is located in the east of Russia and had been used as military base. Now, Fulgerima Island is registered as a BR and some scientists visit there for researching its ecosystem. Some experts live there to save creatures. I saw they helped a bird return to his flock. Through this program, I could understand people in Russia cherish nature and live with using nature well. I think that it is important for us to cherish nature, save nature and use nature well.
