This was my first visit to Kanazawa and Japan in general and I like it so much! My training was at Kanazawa University, but we often traveled outside of it. At the lectures we were introduced to Japan - culture, nature, way of life, but the grain of our program was the Biosphere Reserves. We were also introduced to the operation of waste treatment (Toshitu Shinpo Landfill Site, Toshitu Recycle Plaza and West Environmental Energy Center) and water treatment systems (Jouhoku Water Management Center). I want to note that this is directly related to the subject of our trip, because without the protection of the environment it is impossible to create a balanced system of Biosphere Reserves. Our lectures were devoted to the study of nature, history and natural disasters in Hokuriku. We also studied the structure of the work of local national parks, nature reserves and geoparks. After lectures and trips included in the schedule we went to explore the city and local attractions. Thanks to the program, we met with Japanese students, they seemed to me very cheerful and responsive guys, actually together with them we were engaged in sightseeing. We walked all around the city, including the central park (Kenrokuen), the Kanazawa station and Museum of the 21st century, at the weekend we visited the Sea of Japan. After 11 days spent in Kanazawa, we went to the village of Shiramine. During this trip we studied the life of the local population, lived in traditional Japanese homes, got acquainted with the infrastructure of the village and visited the natural attractions and museums. Thanks to several lectures on the Japanese language, I even could talk a little with the local people. In the village of Shiramine there is a two-day festival "Hakusan Festival" which takes place every year. We were lucky enough to attend this festival. In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to the program for the experience gained and the inexpressible emotions.
