Saint Petersburg State University

When we arrived in Saint Petersburg, it was a white night. I participated in an international symposium at Saint Petersburg State University. I enjoyed the presentations by professors in various fields such as molecular biology, bioinformatics, nanotechnology, psychology and neuroscience. I gave a poster presentation of my own research about future prediction in rats and received warm comments and suggestions. I also visited the Department of Psychology and participated in a meeting with Professor Shaboltas, the Dean of the Department and Associate Professor Strizhitskaya. It was very impressive for me to hear that the department had about 200 staff members and a unique education system. There was a statue of Ivan Pavlov, a very famous figure in learning and comparative psychology. I visited various research centers of natural science the next day. Although the exterior of the university buildings looked very traditional, the interior was fully equipped with modern technologies. In my opinion, it is also good for Kanazawa University to integrate traditional styles with modern technologies.
