Cultural Exchange Program

Kazan Federal university

This time I really enjoyed this program and it made me grow more than before leaving for Russia. I have started to practice "Noh," one of the famous Japanese traditional play, since this April. I also began to perform it by myself in June to let foreigners know what Japanese culture is, and Japanese sprit is. Somehow I have two opportunities to show my performance thanks to my beautiful friend, I never imagined to perform until I had heard about Japanese culture introduction. Actually it was my first time to perform my Noh in front of people, though I have never performed even in Japan as my first stage would be in Octorber, so I really didn't know I could do well and worried about it at that time. Now, after the performance, I feel so nice to have shared Japanese culture with Russian friends and made them happy with my performance. It is one of my biggest honors.

During the stay in Kazan, I did not just spread own culture but also accepted many different cultures. Russia is the largest country of all the world and many people who have different culture or route live together there. I only know matryoshka when it comes to Russian culture but I enjoyed games with friends and wore traditional clothes. I realized how the Russian and people in Republics around Russia live together and respect each other through the experience. I hope we Japanese also understand other cultures and accept others. I willl keep on learning other cultures and opening doors to my new worlds. This program was so amazing for me to broaden my horizon and I am sure it must be exciting for other students who want to see a new world.

I would love to try other overseas programs, and I strongly hope to visit Russia and my precious friends there again. Thank you so much.
