Learning in Kazan

Hiroki Yokota

Division of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University

Advanced Science and Technology Program

Kazan Federal University

I studied robot operation systems at Kazan Federal University.

Research students of Kazan Federal University are brilliant. Research students are equivalent to Japanese masters. However, they have the skills required for Japanese doctor students. In addition, I was very surprised to learn that they became a research student 2 years younger than a master's student in Japan. I felt a high level of professional education in Russia.

What I learned through this program is the importance of honesty. Because I felt that the attitude to try hard to understand something is transmitted even if the language is not transmitted.

For example, when I was working on tasks in the laboratory, my tasks were often stuck due to my lack of specialized knowledge and poor English skill. At that time, I took notes so that I could translate what I had taught later, and immediately asked questions when research students were free. As a result, research students taught me in English as easily as possible and provided more advice than ever.

The reverse is also true. The attitude of not enthusiastically and not interested is transmitted beyond words.

After graduation, I will work with people from all over the world through my work. For that time, I wanted to improve not only my language skills but also my honesty.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all those who have helped me.
