What I was interested in before I went to Russia was a difference in prices between Japan and Russia. In my days in Russia, I went to supermarket many times and I liked it. Actually, the most interesting thing for me was how to display its prices. In Japan, fruits prices are displayed by using number of things, but in Russia, it’s displayed by using number of its weight. Why is there a difference between Japan and Russia?

I think of some reasons. First is a difference in prices. In Japan, fruits are more expensive than Russia, so few people buy large quantity of fruits at once. Second is a difference in its size. Compared to Russia, Japanese fruits sizes and shapes look the same, so it may not matter to stores which fruits customers choose. I am not sure if my thinking is right or not, so I will try to pursue it.
