Far Eastern Federal University, Irkutsk State University

I will introduce Far Eastern Federal University in this report. First, I will show you an outline of FEFU. This university was established in 1899 and moved to Russky Island in 2012. Also, there are 9 departments and about 43000 students.
Second, I will describe our experience at FEFU. After arriving at Vladivostok ,we stayed at FEFU hotel from august 7 to 11 except for 9 and ate Russian meals six times there. Surprisingly, every meals included something red, for example red juice, salad, soup and jam. Although I have no idea of these ingredients, these tastes were strange, new and interesting. I was shocked also that yellow water was flown from all water taps and, moreover, the water smelled bad. The reason why such terrible water was used is that there are no purification plants in Russky Island. It means that people use almost natural sea water in the island. Last day in this island, we were given introduction about facilities of FEFU such as buildings, laboratries and machines. Then, the teacher said that some students are researching the quality of sea water around the island and have the plan of making a water cleaning plant. Through the introduction of FEFU, I was impressed by Russian sutudents’ autonomy and ability to take action.
