Basic Science Program
Purpose
Overview
Short-term
This is a 2-4 week study abroad program mainly for students in the master courses for the purpose of exchange of credits through laboratory activities in basic science fields such as physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Long-term
This is a program for the master students in the field of condensed matter physics including ultra-low temperature physics with the Kazan Federal University. Students aim to acquire degrees from both universities through this Doube Degree Program.
Outbound
Short-term/credit transfer program
Students choose one of the following institutions: Kazan Federal University, Irkutsk State University, Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and Far Eastern Federal University + Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and participate in online seminars provided by a laboratory of the institution they choose and that of Kanazawa University, which starts in July. They are required to present the outcome of their research activities at the online symposium held in September. They will be given an opportunity to visit the laboratory for about two weeks during February and March in 2021 to conduct research there.
Inbound
Short-term/credit transfer program
Students participate in online seminars in their research field provided by a laboratory of Kanazawa University, which starts in July. They are required to present the outcome of their research activities at the online symposium held in September. There will be an opportunity for them to visit the laboratory of Kanazawa University for about two weeks during February and March in 2021 to conduct research there.
Long-term/degree acquisition program
One second-year DDP student enrolled in FY 2018 is scheduled to start studying at Kanazawa University in Q3 as international student. The schedule for first-year DDP students enrolled in FY 2019 has been changed due to the corona virus pandemic.
