We sent 50 students to four Russian partner universities and visited three main Russian BRs and several National Parks. Due to the economic instability, most of those areas are facing ecological and population migration issues. Those issues are very similar with Japanese rural areas. This course provided the opportunity to experience the cross-cultural similarities of Japanese and Russian Biosphere Regions, and educate the youth to act towards regional issues of both countries.
