Due to the coronavirus pandemic, students will participate remotely in the program provided by Kanazawa University.

For russian partnership university, joint symposiums will be offered remotely.

Six Russian students from Krasnoyarsk State Medical University, Saint Petersburg Medical University, Saint Petersburg State University and Moscow State University were accepted. They did one-week lab rotations in a total of six different research areas (biochemistry and molecular vascular biology, molecular genetics, cellular and molecular function analysis, viral infection control science, immunology, molecular bioregulation) to learn cutting edge technology in their specialized research area.

A joint symposium was held at Saint Petersburg Medical University, which mainly focused on oncology, hematology, urology and neuroscience. Eight participants from Russia and also eight, including four students, from Japan made oral presentations, followed by questions and answers.

Ten Russian students from Kazan Federal University, Krasnoyarsk State Medical University, Saint Petersburg Medical University and Far Eastern Federal University were accepted. They did one-week lab rotations in a total of 16 different research areas (integrative cancer therapy and urology, translational and clinical oncology, neurosurgery, hematology medicine, bioinformatics and genomics, immunology, cancer cell biology, molecular genetics, neurology and neurobiology of aging, medical neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, nephrology, respiratory medicine, Research Center for Child Mental Development, oncology and molecular biology, medical oncology) to learn cutting edge technology in their specialized research area.

A joint symposium was held at Krasnoyarsk State Medical University. Participants included not only those from Krasnoyarsk State Medical University but also from Saint Petersburg Medical University, Altai State University and Kazan Federal University. More than 20 poster presentations (including five by Japanese graduate students) were made and lectures were offered.

A kickoff mini-symposium jointly with Kazan Federal University was held.
