...It’s like a fairy tale came true
Honestly, I was afraid to go so far from my home: unfamiliar culture and people for the whole month. Finally I have realised this to be one of the most interesting and meaningful time in my life.
Every day was full of amazing and unforgettable memories. My story could fill a whole book and maybe I will write about it someday… For now I will tell you about the most important things.

In our first week we had a three-day camp in the Noto region. We had couple of lectures devoted to the current problems of Japanese society: population decline in small towns and rapid growth of large cities. What are we capable to change? The Russian and Japanese students had to discuss these problems and to find solutions together. We were not only preparing a project and making a short film about tourist facilities in the region but also we were talking all that time discovering our cultural differences and surprising similarities.

During my second week I had my internship program in Japanese Company Murata that works in the field of electronic components. I was impressed with the team and quality of research. I have never had any experience in working for the company of this size! In
Murata I was lucky to work in the department where sensors such as accelerometers and gyroscopes were developed and tested. This subject is close to my scientific work at my home university. My diploma is related to Indoor Navigation and Inertial navigation systems, but I worked only with math models of this sensors. In Murata I analysed data and also worked practically in a laboratory. In addition Murata team invited us to the farewell party of our internship program, where we were trying Japanese specialties while communicating with our colleagues in an informal way.

The third week was devoted to my scientific work in Kanazawa University. My Professor Mr. Kimura suggested me to investigate a very interesting problem related to my major. He coached me in details and moreover asked for assistance of Professor Mr. Notsu to review my results. The research process was very meaningful for me and I expect to use the results obtained in Kanazawa University in my master thesis.

The forth week was my last week in Japan. It started with very interesting tour to Toyota factory. We went through the main stages of manufacturing: welding, painting and assembly. The assembly line looked like something fantastic: a new car appears every three minutes!

On weekends we had time to relax and explore local sightseeings. Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-en Garden, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art are free for students!

I’d like to say thanks to — Kanazawa University for great opportunity to be a student in Japan and thanks personally to Mr. Akiharu Morimoto, Ms. Mariko Akita and her colleagues for their everyday care, — Murata company, especially Mr. Nishino. Thanks to my friend Masahiro, who was not only my translator, but also my guide into Japanese culture and language, — my Professor Mr. Kimura for his attention and research ideas, — all students of Kanazawa University I have met! Yusuke, Kaho, my neighbours in dormitory Mayu and Peng Hanwei they were always ready to help me! ありがとうございました。

My life is divided into two parts: before and after Japan. For me it is magic country with beautiful landscapes and wonderful people! This experience will rest in my memories and in my heart forever. I hope that someday I will return to this amazing country… And now I am glad to see you in Moscow, welcome to Russia!
