Some years ago, I could not have imagined that someday Japanese culture would take a special place in my heart. When I had just entered my university in Russia, at first the fact that my major in foreign language would have taken Japanese surprised me. Now it has been almost 2 years since I started learning this wonderful language, and I finally have got to stay in Japan during short course program at Kanazawa University.

I would like to describe the most significant features of the Cultural Exchange Program.

It is about altering ways. It is about changing. Only through mutual understanding can we build friendly relationships in our society. The thinking when they see how diverse our planet is, and how the world is being changed for better.

This program has been a great opportunity to improve my Japanese by immersing in the language environment and taking classes at Kanazawa University. I have a deep interest in the culture, history, and language of Japan, which I have been interested in continuing to explore. There are traditional Japanese houses and gardens. I learned their history, participated in cleaning of the garden at Sinrensya Temple and experienced Japanese tea ceremony. There are biological activities and cultural diversity. The nature tells us how important it is for humans to be united with it.

I believe such scientific approach can make a difference and help our connections connect. We, ordinary people, are those responsible for making a doubtlessly, better understanding of Japanese culture and history will help me write research works on the relationship between Japan and Russia. We should pass on only the best from what we have learnt.

Exchange students have to be responsible and active. Thus, I anticipate developing both personally and professionally from this international experiences. Last but not least, the program helped me develop my soft skills, such as flexibility, creativity, and many others.
