<About Lake Baikal>
Lake Baikal is the deepest and oldest lake in the world. Water of the lake is very clear. It occupies 22 % of fresh water in the world. Length of the lake is 600km and width of the lake is 50km. It was used for shipping goods. Water of the lake is frozen in winter so in wartime, railway was lied on the lake. Various of organisms live in the lake. There are about 1000 kinds of organisms which only live in the lake.
<Biodiversity of Lake Baikal>
There are various form of life in the lake. Phoca sibiricas are very important for the lake because they eat sculpins and small shrimps. As a result, they prevent suclpins and shrimps from increasing excessively. Also there are seaweeds and microorganisms. They make water of the lake very pure. All living things of the lake are enconnected to each other. Therefore, if one of them become extinct, biodiversity is broken. So, people should protect biodiversity of the lake to keep the lake beautiful.
<The living around Lake Baikal>
Buryarts live around Lake Baikal. They are people of Mongolian. There are two regions in Buryart. East side buryarts believe in a Buddhism. West side buryarts believe in a Shamanism. In ancient times, they were nomads, but presently, they engage in stock-farming and agriculture. Also fishing industry is prosperous around the lake. Today many tourists visit the lake so many hotels have being constructed. As a result, polluted water flows into the lake. But tourism is very important for protecting beauty of the lake. Therefore, people should keep balance between tourism and protection of the lake.
<My own growth>
I learned many things in trip to Russia. By contacting with various bags, animals and plants, I felt the brilliance of nature. I learned that people have accepted a favor from nature for a long period of time so the nature is very very important for us and we should protect nature. Russians understand problems of nature of their country. I think we should learn their attitude for nature. Also, I talk with Russian students aggressively so I was able to improve my skills of talking with foreign people. This trip was very significant for me!
