2月27日，金沢大学において，本学とカザン連邦大学との化学に関するジョイントシンポジウムを開催しました。カザン連邦大学から12名（教員、学生各6名）が参加し，日本からはカザン連邦大学の共同研究先である理化学研究所の田中克典氏と本学の教職員・学生あわせて57名が参加しました。このシンポジウムでは，カザン連邦大学有機化学部長のイゴール・アンティピン教授による特別講義と，両大学の教員による研究発表および大学院生によるポスター発表が行われました。
また，シンポジウムに先立って，カザン連邦大学の金沢オフィスが開所されました。本オフィスは今後の両大学間の共同活動の拠点になることが期待されます。

On February 27th, KFU-KU Joint Symposium on Chemistry took place at Kanazawa University. 12 Russian participants (6 faculty members and 6 graduate students) from Kazan Federal University, and 57 Japanese participants including Mr. Katsunori Tanaka from Riken, which does collaborative researches with Kazan Federal University, and 56 faculty, staff and students from Kanazawa University participated in this symposium. After a special lecture provided by Prof. Igor Antipin, Head of Organic Chemistry Department, Kazan Federal University, the faculty members from both universities made presentations on their researches, and the graduate students from both universities participated in poster presentations.
Prior to the Joint Symposium, the Opening Ceremony for the Kazan Federal University Platform in Kanazawa was held. It is widely expected that this office becomes the base of joint activities between the two universities.
