Cultural Exchange Program
Far Eastern Federal University, Irkutsk State University
During the cultural exchange program, there were many chances to study Russian culture and Russia's natural reservations in Russian Far East and around the lake Baikal. In Russia, there were many attractive places and I could have amazing experiences, but the most attractive things were the artificial lines made by the construction of power lines across the forests.
We learn the importance and the difficulty of conservation of the rich nature during visiting areas that have the rich and conserved nature. For example, I knew that many kinds of people had been to protect the nature for many decades. Then, I also knew that there are some islands designated the biosphere reserve and only few rangers protect the island. Therefore, the lines, made by the power lines in the forest, express the influences by humans' interventions against the nature.
Through the cultural exchange program, my environmental value has been changed. I thought I need to make somethings that harmony with the environment as a student studying engineering. Moreover, I hadn’t much had attention to the environment before this program, but I came to have much attention to the environment, like the power lines problem, after the program.
