Cultural Exchange Program

I was able to learn a lot through this cultural exchange program. The most pleasurable memory is interchange with Russian students. They are very kind and took us to the various places.

On August 13, we went to Irkutsk University and heard presentation of Kanazawa University and Irkutsk University. I knew that Kanazawa and Irkutsk were sister cities after I came to Russia. I was surprised to watch a signboard written as "Kanazawa Street" and a garden lantern when I took a walk through the city.

After presentations, we introduced Japanese culture to Irkutsk students. Our group introduced “Kendama”. Kendama is a traditional hand-held toy long enjoyed in Japan by people of all ages. We played Kendama with Irkutsk students. Kendama is hard to success for person who try it for the first time, but Irkutsk students tried again and again, so some can succeed Kendama. I think that I want Russian people to be interested more about Japan.
