My first trip to Japan
Vasileva Anna
Kazan Federal University
Cultural Exchange Program
It is my first trip abroad, I have never been so far from my home before. It was my dream to visit Japan and it is hard to believe it came true.
I remember crowded Tokyo, his narrow streets and big brightly shining signboards with kanji I could not read. In this city ancient temples coexist with modern skyscrapers, and it is really impresses. Tokyo is totally different from other cities I saw. I was amazed by the service in the subway, in shops, in the hotel. I think that the most polite staff is in Japan.
At the Kanazawa University we took classes of Japanese language and listened to lectures of respected lecturers, such as professor Tsukawaki, professor Ichihara and so on. Special thanks to Mammadova Aida who organized fascinating trips to Sue Water Plant and Jouhoku Water Management Center, Toshitu Shinpo Landfill Site, Toshitu Recycle Plaza and West Environmental Energy Center, Gokayama and Shirokawago, Hakusan Tedorikawa GeoPark. We got strong impressions and unforgettable experience.
We have been living in Shiramine for six days. It is a traditional Japanese village with population about 800 people. Their whole life is inextricably linked with nature. They are the kindest, the most hospitable people I have ever known! I wish I could stay in Shiramine for a long time. We took part in the Hakusan-matsuri, wore kimono, danced and sang with local residents. Yamaguchi-san and Ikeuchi-san helped us a lot. I will never forget it.
In conclusion, I would like to recommend this program for those students who are deeply interested in Japanese culture. I liked it very much and I hope one day I will meet all my friends made during this program again.
