Shiramine is a village located near a sacred mountain Hakusan. We stayed there for 5 days and lived in a traditional Japanese house called Yohei. There we took part in a traditional festival. The festival lasted for 2 days.
The first day-meeting of the God coming from mount Hakusan. We were dressed in traditional costumes. We met God together with the local people and other foreign students. In the evening everyone was dancing a traditional dance.
Second day-pulling a huge barrel of water. This event is connected with the water from the sacred spring. There are 2 teams that pull the barrel in different directions. The goal is to take the barrel to the Central square. According to legend, every swig of this water makes you younger for 1 year.
