Japan of the World’s center of cutting-edge research in the field of advanced materials science. Before, I could only judge about the complexity of studies according to the papers of Japanese researchers, but now I had the opportunity to see how the system works with my own eyes due to Japan-Russia scholarship program provided by Kanazawa and Lomonosov Moscow State University. I was actually impressed.

I have visited Japan for the first time. I had a very tunnelled vision of what this experience would be about. I had pictured epic mountain ranges and busy cities. While much of this is true, Japan is so (so, so, so) much more than that. It was the dream of mine: through watching everyday usual life and work go thoroughly and deeply inside the peculiarities of Japan.

At Deparment of Chemistry (Institue of Natural Science) of Kanazawa I was hosted by inorganic laboratory, headed by Prof. Hayashi. The laboratory of Hayashi-sensei works in field of smart, rational inorganic synthesis for a broad field of application.  In addition, the laboratory uses many high-tech methods for studying compounds: all-in-all this lab is equipped with almost all necessary for modern research.

All members of Prof. Hayashi's group are experienced and thoughtful researchers. Every week the lab gather for colloquim to discuss results and new ideas. 

Also, we visited and tried by ourselves modern noodle production factory, provided by Sodick Co. Ltd. (C). It was fruitful and exciting week.

It was very inspiring to spend a week among professionals who are passionate about their work, I hope that Japan-Russia exchange program (6 universities, MSU included) experience will help me to improve my career in science.
