Russian-Japanese Exchange Program
Valerii Karnaukhov

Advanced Science and Technology Program
I participated in the Russian-Japanese exchange program. It lasted one month and it was really eventful.
We went to Suzu and discussed population and revitalization of local regions in Japan. Everyone participated in the international symposium, which was attended by Russian and Japanese professors and students. We also took part in internships in various Japanese companies. It was all a really rewarding and interesting experience.
In the last two weeks, everyone conducted research activities under the guidance of Kanazawa University supervisor. My supervisor shared his research experience and drew up a work plan. As a result, the planned work was completed and I obtained valuable results that are part of my future master's thesis.
In addition to the scientific component, we had a lot of free time to travel around Japan. Japan is a beautiful and developed country with an interesting culture. The cities are very clean and well equipped. Japanese are very friendly and polite.
To sum up, the exchange program turned out to be a useful practical experience for me. I really enjoyed being in Japan.
