I went to Saint Petersburg in mid-September. It was my first visit to Russia and I did not expect that it would be a great trip before I went there.

 

【September 12th】We met president and discussed a future collaboration between Kanazawa University and Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University. Then, we visited hospital. Hospital was very big and we could see daily activity of doctors and many patients. We enjoyed Russian cuisine for lunch. I really appreciated their hospitality.

 

【September 13th】We participated in a symposium between the two universities. I had a poster presentation and briefly introduced my research by oral presentation. Many young doctors and students joined in the symposium. We had a very heated discussion. All the subject was interesting and advanced medical topic.

 

【September 14th】We had one day for sightseeing. Marina-san, international student from Japan, kindly guided us to go to museum, church, lunch and so on. At night, I boarded tour boat and enjoyed beautiful city.

 

This trip was very good for me in terms of thinking about study abroad. I hope medical exchange between the two universities will be developed more.
