Japan is a country of amazing opposites. It considers scientific progress and old traditions. We arrived in Shiramine on July 12 and stayed there for only five days. During this time we took part in many traditional festivals that shocked me. Before coming here I did not know that there are so many national holidays in Japan, each of which is unique in its own way.
Most of all I was amazed by the yukata, which we were able to wear for one of the holidays. It was beautiful clothes, wearing that, I felt like a traditional Japanese. All day I wore a yukata and caught on myself the admiring glances of native Japanese and visitors of the city.
Walking around the village in traditional clothes, I felt the spirit of old Japan. Finally, my dream came true: I visited an informal Japanese village and talked with locals.
